Integral Yoga – An Introduction
In contrast to the traditional ascetic and
contemplative Indian Yoga-traditions the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo
includes the manyfold activities of life in the spiritual discipline.
The Integral Yoga aims at an inner
self-development, by which one can become aware of the one Self in all
and grow into a consciousness beyond the human mind. A spiritual and
supramental consciousness, that ultimately transforms the human nature
into the divine nature.
"This Yoga does not mean the rejection of
the powers of life, but an inner transformation and a change of the
spirit in the life and the use of the powers.
These powers are now used in egoistic spirit and for undivine ends;
they have to be used in a spirit of surrender to the Divine and for the
purposes of the divine Work."
