Padmakar Mirajkar
Padmakar Mirajkar descends from a
traditional
Brahmin family. He was born in the Indian Federal State Maharashtra.
His education was influenced by the values of both the Indian and the
western cultures. This prepared the ground for the further stages of
his
life: After fourteen years in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram he finally came
to Germany.
1956 - 1970
– Education, studies and work in several departments of the Sri
Aurobindo Ashram
– studies in the Indian classical language Sanskrit
– studies in music, esp.
Bansuri (Indian bambooflute)
– advanced studies in drawing and painting
– studies in traditional Yoga practices
1970 - 1974
Studies in industrial design at the Folkwangschule in Essen;
teaches Yogaclasses in colleges of physical education and other
educational institutions
1975
Foundation of the Sri Aurobindo Yogaschule in Essen
1978
Good Earth is founded – a country estate in the Indian Federal State
Tamil Nadu, located in the greenbelt of the international city
Auroville.
1980
The Yogaschool buys a farmhouse in Röspe / Rothaargebirge –
after years of reconstruction and renovation the present Sri Aurobindo
House.
